Farm Gate Frames & Galvanised Steel Gates

Richmond supplies heavy duty Farm Gate Frames for livestock enclosures, paddocks, rural properties and general agricultural access. Manufactured from steel with a hot-dip galvanised finish, these Farm Gates provide a durable, corrosion-resistant barrier for long-term outdoor use in Australian farming and rural environments.

The range covers openings from 4ft through to 16ft, with mesh and open-frame configurations available. Different gate sizes use unbraced, I-style or N-style bracing to provide suitable frame support across different spans, while welded mesh options create a more enclosed barrier for livestock management.

Richmond’s galvanised steel Farm Gates can be paired with suitable farm gate hinges and latching hardware to create a complete installation for paddock entrances, livestock yards, pedestrian access points and wider agricultural openings.

Galvanised Farm Gates for Paddocks, Livestock & Rural Access

Farm gates need to provide reliable access while forming an effective physical barrier between paddocks, livestock areas, driveways and other parts of a rural property. Richmond’s gate range provides multiple widths so the gate can be selected according to the opening, livestock requirements and the type of access required.

Compact gates provide a practical option for pedestrian and narrow livestock access, while wider Farm Gate Frames provide clearance for livestock movement, vehicles and agricultural equipment where appropriate. Mesh infill can be used where a more enclosed barrier is required, while open-frame configurations provide an alternative for suitable farm and property access applications.

The hot-dip galvanised finish is particularly important in outdoor agricultural environments, helping protect the steel against corrosion caused by ongoing exposure to weather and rural conditions.

Product Types by Application

4ft Mesh Farm Gates

The 4ft Mesh Farm Gate (FGR001) is designed for narrow farm openings, walkways and livestock access points. Measuring approximately 1.17m high and 1.17m wide, it uses a tubular steel frame with welded 100 x 200 x 5mm mesh infill.

Unlike the wider gates in the range, this compact model does not require diagonal bracing. The mesh creates a more enclosed barrier than an open rail design, making the gate practical for pedestrian access, smaller livestock enclosures and other locations where a full-width Farm Gate is unnecessary.

6ft I-Braced Farm Gates

Richmond’s 6ft Farm Gates provide approximately 1.83m of gate width for smaller paddock entrances and agricultural access points. The range includes the 6ft I-Stay Farm Gate (FGR002) and the 6ft I-Brace Farm Gate without Mesh (FGR008).

I-style bracing reinforces the frame across the wider span, while the choice of mesh and open-frame configurations allows the gate to be selected according to the type of enclosure and access required.

8ft & 10ft N-Brace Mesh Farm Gates

The 8ft N-Brace Mesh Farm Gate (FGR003) and 10ft N-Brace Mesh Farm Gate (FGR004) provide wider access for paddocks, livestock enclosures and general farm entrances. N-style diagonal bracing provides additional reinforcement across these longer gate spans.

Welded mesh infill creates a more enclosed physical barrier while retaining visibility through the gate, making these sizes practical for regular livestock movement and general agricultural access.

12ft & 14ft N-Brace Mesh Farm Gates

For wider paddock and property entrances, Richmond offers the 12ft N-Brace Mesh Farm Gate (FGR005) and 14ft N-Brace Mesh Farm Gate (FGR006). Both combine welded mesh infill with diagonal N-style bracing for additional frame support.

These wider Galvanised Farm Gates provide increased clearance for livestock movement and agricultural access while maintaining a physical mesh barrier across the opening.

16ft N-Brace Mesh Farm Gates

The 16ft N-Brace Mesh Farm Gate (FGR007) provides approximately 4.8m of width for large paddock entrances and wide agricultural access points. Its N-style diagonal bracing reinforces the frame across the extended span, while welded mesh provides a more enclosed livestock barrier.

The wide opening provides generous clearance for livestock movement, larger vehicles and agricultural equipment where appropriate, making this model suitable for main paddock entrances and other locations where substantial access width is required.

Farm Gate Frame Options & Features

Hot-Dip Galvanised Steel Construction

Richmond Farm Gate Frames use steel construction with a hot-dip galvanised finish to provide corrosion resistance for outdoor installation. This protective finish is important for gates that remain permanently exposed to rain, moisture and changing weather conditions.

Galvanised construction makes these gates suitable for ongoing use across farms, paddocks, rural properties and other agricultural environments where durability outdoors is a key consideration.

Welded Mesh Farm Gates

Mesh Farm Gates incorporate welded steel mesh within the main tubular frame, creating a more enclosed barrier than an open-frame gate. This configuration is available across multiple sizes within the Richmond range.

The mesh is particularly useful for livestock enclosures and paddock access points where greater coverage is required while maintaining visibility through the gate.

I-Style Bracing

I-style bracing is used on selected 6ft gate configurations to provide additional reinforcement across the gate frame. This supports the structure as gate width increases beyond the compact unbraced 4ft design.

The 6ft range includes both mesh and open-frame options, allowing the bracing configuration to be combined with the barrier style appropriate for the installation.

N-Style Bracing for Wider Gates

Richmond’s wider 8ft, 10ft, 12ft, 14ft and 16ft Mesh Farm Gates use N-style diagonal bracing. As gate spans become wider, this reinforcement provides additional support across the steel frame.

This makes the N-braced configurations suited to larger paddock entrances, livestock access points and agricultural openings where a wider gate is required without giving up the benefits of a mesh barrier.

Compatible Farm Gate Hardware

Farm Gate Frames form one part of a complete gate installation and can be paired with appropriately selected farm gate hinges and latching hardware. Hardware should be selected according to the gate size, installation arrangement and operating requirements.

Matching the frame with suitable gate hardware helps create a practical installation for regular access around farms, paddocks and rural properties.
