Description
The TTR003 Lithium Battery Powered Electric Tug is built to deliver safe, predictable movement of heavy loads in industrial environments. Fitted with a high-torque 48V 1500W DC motor, it provides consistent drawbar pulling force of 1000N, making it capable of manoeuvring loads up to 2.5 tonnes with confidence and control.
Its 48V 50Ah lithium-ion battery system allows for opportunity charging, keeping the tug in service longer and eliminating downtime associated with traditional lead-acid batteries. The unit is supplied with a 47V 8A charger and is well suited to demanding workflows that require frequent operation across a full shift.
Operators benefit from precise control using the ergonomic hand controller, with adjustable travel speeds between 1 km/h and 4 km/h. Smooth acceleration and deceleration are supported by a variable speed controller, helping to reduce risk in tight or high-traffic zones. Built-in safety systems include responsive braking, an emergency stop button, reverse safety switch, and a high-visibility warning light for added awareness in shared spaces.
Constructed from a durable steel chassis, the TTR003 is designed for long-term performance in warehouses, manufacturing plants, and commercial facilities. Non-marking grey wheels help protect floors, while the electric lift/lower 50mm tow ball makes coupling and uncoupling to trolleys, trailers and attachments fast and efficient. For added versatility, a pin and bracket system is also available separately, enabling the tug to be used with a wider range of equipment. This makes it suitable not only for towing trailers, but also for moving wheelie bins, stillage cages, stock trolleys, and other wheeled assets commonly found in logistics, facilities maintenance, and waste handling operations.
Its CE Certified design supports use across both Australian and international sites, meeting stringent operational safety standards.
Product FAQs
The TTR003 is rated to tow up to 2500kg across flat, sealed surfaces.
Yes. The TTR0003 electric tug is designed to safely move heavy wheeled loads, including waste bins and bulk containers, on sloped or inclined surfaces. It provides controlled, powered movement that reduces the physical effort required compared to manual pushing or pulling.
In many sites, waste trucks cannot safely access steep, narrow or underground driveways. As a result, bins often need to be moved to a suitable collection point. The TTR0003 allows bins to be transported safely and efficiently from internal bin rooms, underground car parks or sloped driveways to approved collection locations.
It is compatible with a wide range of wheeled trolleys, dollies, skates and bins. Custom tow hitches can be supplied if required.
It is designed for indoor or outdoor use with its heavy-duty steel body and large non-marking pneumatic wheels suitable for both indoor or outdoor flooring such as concrete, tile, timber, brick or light gravel.
The TTR003 has an IP33 rating, making it suitable for outdoor use, offering suitable protection from light rain or spray-water.
Yes. The TTR003 includes a rechargeable lithium-ion battery system for cordless operation, opportunity charging and efficient movement.
The TTR003 is a fully driven electric tug. The operator walks behind the tug and uses a hand throttle to control speed and direction.
Opportunity charging is a practical method of recharging lithium-ion batteries in short, frequent bursts during natural pauses in operation. Rather than waiting for the battery to fully discharge before performing a complete charge cycle, operators “top up” the battery whenever the equipment is idle such as during lunch breaks, shift changes, or between tasks.
This approach reduces downtime, keeps machines operational for longer, and supports continuous workflow in demanding environments. Lithium-ion batteries are ideal for opportunity charging as they handle partial charging well without compromising performance or lifespan.
Yes. Manually moving heavy bins on slopes can create manual handling and slip or strain risks for workers. Using a powered electric tug helps reduce these risks by minimising physical exertion and providing controlled movement, supporting safer work practices.
